Today is the last day of the first half of the year.

Do you know where your career is? Mine is ebbing right now, but that’s just the nature of business. And don’t forget, being an actor is being a businessperson.

When I was a youngster (I was going to type kid, but those are my initials, so I’ll be a KID all my life) I worked in the family business. Trying to keep the cash flow steady was my Dad’s biggest challenge. As an adult I started my own business and had the same experience. I was either working my butt off or sitting on my thumbs. The trick is trying to stay busy doing something while things are slow that will get you working again. How do you do that, you ask? How do you think you do that, I respond (always wanted to do that). Really, how you keep busy is as individual as you are. If you really don’t have any ideas let me know and I’ll toss some thoughts at you and maybe some of them will stick.

Show business, like life, has its ups and downs…OK, I’ll stop there before I make jokes about elevator operators.

Tax Incentives garner a Body of Proof

I first heard the report on the ABC 7 morning news, yes I’m a morning person, about the success the tax incentives are having on Runaway Production. I then followed up with an article from The Hollywood Reporter. What’s my interest you ask in all this? It’s a selfish one; the potential of more acting work.

One of the gains made was to bring the production of the show Body of Proof to Hollywood. A crime drama with a medical theme is exactly the type of show I should be hired to work on (I hope the Casting Director reads this). There is another reason I want to work on this show. Now, I don’t think I ever admitted this to anyone, but Dana Delany is hot. I’ve thought that ever since she worked on China Beach. Having said that I’m sure the comment will now swing around and bite me in the ass. So as the chewing begins I’ll also say Jeri Ryan is hot too. I briefly met Ms. Ryan at an event in Chicago when she was the “Star Trek Babe” on Voyager. That was back when I was just starting out as an actor.

Well, I’m off. I have to start digging and find out who is casting Body of Proof.

The movie Metal Man

I was looking at my page on http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2359000/ and realized third but not displayed video is a Trailer for the movie Metal Man. I clicked on it and watched it out of curiousity. The good thing about this Trailer is, when I show up, I'm already dead.

I have to laugh at the comments people post because they are, for the most part, spot on. My performance, notwithstanding, this movie has to rank among the worst ever made. I can only hope that it becomes some sort of cult classic and that I get invited to sign autographs at a convention somewhere.

To be fair, however, the movie didn't turn out as planned. When the producer handed me my copy the first words out of his mouth were, "It's out focus". He was obviously disappointed by it. This is probably why the FX people didn't bother to do their magic. The cheezy Metal Man suit was not intended for the viewer. Metal Man was meant to look like mercury.

First post ever

This is the first posting to a blog I've ever made. It's a brave new world. Wish me luck.
